FAQ

What's so special about New Orleans Weddings?

New Orleans receptions are typically not seated dinners, but instead consist of heavy passed items at the start of the reception, open food stations and buffets, with emphasis on lots of good food, lots of beverages, and a highly dynamic and social atmosphere that allows guests to move freely about the reception space.

Seating is left open for guests to choose their own seats and tables. The bride and groom have their first dance near the beginning of their reception, opening the dance floor immediately for the guests' enjoyment, and to take full advantage of the band.

What exactly is a second line?

One of the most popular traditions during New Orleans weddings is the famous second line parade. A Brass band leads the bridal party and the guests from the ceremony to the reception, or in our case around the neighborhood.

A second line parade has two parts. The first line is usually a brass band and the ones being honored, the newlyweds. The newly married couple leads the second line holding uniquely decorated umbrellas or parasols. All of the guests who want to join in the celebration make up the second line. The guests form a line behind the band and the newly married couple dance to lively music with handkerchiefs or cocktail napkins in hand!

Where can I park?

For our local friends and family, we have arranged for parking to be available at the St. Vincent De Paul Roman Catholic Church (Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Catholic Church) across the street from the venue.

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

The ceremony starts promptly at 4:30 PM. Please arrive 30 minutes or so before the official ceremony start time so you can get settled before the proceedings.

Are kids welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this will allow you a much-deserved night off to celebrate with us!

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Semi-formal or Cocktail attire requested. We encourage all guests to dress to impress. This is your time to get all dressed up and have fun with it.

Please note, the ceremony will take place outside, so we’d recommend bringing a jacket in case you get chilly.

What if I have dietary restrictions?

Please make sure to let us know if you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions. Our venue has wonderful food and want to make sure there is something for everyone to enjoy.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?

November in New Orleans can be slightly unpredictable, with one day being chilly and overcast and the next bright, sunny, and warm. Mid-November normally sees the warm daytime high temperatures in the low-70s with overnight or early morning lows in the comfortable upper 50s.
